At Sikorsky Credit Union, protecting your personal and financial information is one of our top priorities. As part of our commitment to your security, we want to raise awareness about a growing form of fraud known as Smishing.
Smishing is a form of phishing that uses fake text messages to try to steal your personal information—like passwords, credit card details, or login credentials. These messages often look like they're from a trusted source, such as your credit union."

Common Types of Smishing Messages:
  1. Account Verification Scams
"Your account is locked. Click here to verify your information."
These messages often create a sense of urgency to trick you into clicking a fake link.
  2. Suspicious Activity Alerts
"Unusual activity detected. Please confirm your identity immediately."
These may include a link or number to call, directing you to a fake site or fraudster.
  3. Fake Payment or Deposit Notifications
"You've received a payment. Click to claim your funds."
These scams attempt to collect your account details or install malware on your device.
  4. Customer Support Impersonation
Fraudsters pose as credit union representatives asking you to “confirm” personal information.
