Sikorsky Credit Union celebrated Love to Read Month with a Book Drive to give back to the community. The Book Drive took place during the month of February and employees generously donated over 200 new and gently used books. Ken Ferrari, SVP, Chief Lending Officer explained, “Sikorsky Credit Union takes great pride in giving back to the communities we serve. We are happy we could help spread the joy of reading to children and adults at the Literacy Volunteer Center and provide increased access to books to those that need it the most.”
The Literacy Volunteer Center is a non-profit organization that has been building literacy in the Greater Milford and Stratford Areas with quality programs for thousands of local adults and children. The ability to read and write is the basis for all other education.
Kate Alessi, Program Coordinator at Literacy Volunteer Center mentioned, “We are incredibly grateful for Sikorsky Credit Union’s generous donation of 200 books. This support will help us empower more individuals through the power of reading and education. Thank you for making a difference in our community again in 2023."
