STRATFORD, CT – (July 5, 2022) Sikorsky Credit Union awarded five $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors who are headed to college this fall.

Annually Sikorsky Credit Union awards scholarships to high school seniors that plan on continuing their education in the fall. Recipients of the scholarships can use the money for tuition, books or other college expenses. The scholarship program was named after Thomas J. Williams, longtime CEO of the Credit Union, who passed away in 2015.

To apply for the scholarship, students were required to write an essay about money management and be a member of Sikorsky Credit Union. All the essays were reviewed by a committee, then the top five essays were selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship award.

The 2022 winners of the Thomas J. Williams Scholarship program are Grace DeDonato of Shelton, Chloe Hawkins of Orange, McAllister Burke of Woodbridge, Madison Dudeck of Cheshire and Ava Augustine of Southbury.

“These high school students provided impressive essays. As they start a new chapter as college freshmen, Sikorsky Credit Union is excited to provide scholarship money to assist with college expenses.” shared Vincent Ciambriello, President/CEO of Sikorsky Credit Union. “Congratulations to our five scholarship winners this year!”
