Sikorsky Credit Union Sponsors Milford Trick or Trot 5K Run/Walk to benefit the Milford Beth-El Center
This event will take place on Saturday, October 26, 2013. All are welcome to join us. Gather a group of friends or family, dress up in your favorite Halloween costume and enjoy a leisurely walk or invigorating run through the landscapes of Milford.
Sikorsky Credit Union is making the fall season a time for giving by teaming up with several local businesses to host the 2nd Annual Milford Trick or Trot 5K Run/Walk, which benefits the hungry and homeless in the local community. This event takes place on Saturday, October 26, 2013, at Lisman Landing, with registration beginning at 7:30 a.m.
Despite the event occuring in the midst of preparation for Superstorm Sandy last year, more than $11,000 was raised for the Milford Beth-El Center. The Beth-El Center is a recognized leader in caring for and meeting the needs of the hungry and homeless, providing up to 60 meals a day in their soup kitchen while also offering temporary shelter.
“One thing that I enjoy about working at Sikorsky Credit Union is getting a chance to take part in community events with my family, co-workers and members of the Credit Union and community,” mentioned Michele Parry, who is the manager of the Milford Office, which is at 15 Turnpike Square (right off the Post Road, just past the mall.) The Trick or Trot event is very family-friendly, as participants are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite Halloween costume. There will be prizes awarded for best costumes as well as first, second and third place winners of the race by age group. For those who do not wish to run the route, walking is fine as well. The pre-registration fee is $25.00 to receive a race number and t-shirt; $30.00 fee for same day registration. Please visit www.MilfordTrickorTrot.com to register in advance.
In addition to Sikorsky Credit Union, Milford Trick or Trot is also sponsored by the law firm of Harlow, Adams & Friedman, P.C., along with several other companies. The event begins at 9:00 a.m. on Factory Lane and will continue on a scenic route through the back roads near Milford Harbor and Fort Trumbull Beach, ending back on Factory Lane.
